Okay, I really dig 7-Up. Now I typically stick to Coke, specifically, and Sprite for lemon-lime, but if places have 7-Up I tend to be all over it. Planes, for some reason, have a lot of it – guess that’s why there’s none left on land. In any case, caught this post over at Slashfood, where Joanne Lutynec wrote up that heading over to 7up.com and signing up for a Challenge Kit will get you some nifty Diet 7-Up and they’re looking to get you to compare their products with the competition. I’d expect to see this floating a bit on the blogs when those badboys start showing up on people’s doorsteps.

Wow. Just wow.
Now I understand why this was done, just find it amusing that for the previous x years that baseball has existed, why we haven’t had to set aside section of a baseball stadium for those with a peanut allergy before. If this isn’t part of our lawsuit-happy country, then nothing is.
The problem with this, unfortunately, is that it’s going to lead to hundreds of other potential protests, with much less merit than this one actually has (as peanut allergies are tremendously devastating to a lot of people) and teams are going to be spending a lot of time fighting things off.

Looking for a place to knock?
Okay, so this is totally pandering to a pal of mine, but I’m doing it anyway because that’s how it’s going to be. I wouldn’t post it if I didn’t think it was worthwhile, so you don’t have to worry about that. Believe me, I only bring you the most important time wasters and items that you and I both want to buy (or in the case of Pumas, items that I want to buy but you want to buy for me, too), and this is most certainly somewhere in the middle there.
Check out what Loren came up with, because it’s absolutely brilliant as a random idea of something that actually makes sense.
Yep, that’s what it is. You know you want it. Buy in bulk, she’ll thank you, and so will I.

Out in San Francisco
I’m out in San Francisco for a few days, coming home on Thursday night. Long delays getting out here, so I’m a bit behind, but hopefully having a whole day here on Wednesday will straighten that out.

Person jumps from Empire State Building
Someone – reportedly a male – has jumped and committed suicide at the Empire State Building. Just posted this over at Netscape. Looks like so far, only the NYPost.com site has anything up about it.
A colleague, John, tipped me off to this story, as his girlfriend works in the building on the 39th floor, and someone she knows in the building saw the person go flying by their window a little bit ago. So far, the only cameraphone image that I’ve seen shows what was left of this person, under a sheet, after bouncing from the 30th floor, which juts out from the taller structure. Ugh.

Stupid spammers
If you’re a spammer, and you’re trying to phish my PayPal information, perhaps an email that says “Please verity your identity” isn’t the way to go. At least spell “verify” correctly.

Sanjaya is safe. We’re all screwed
Forget all the other “sign of the apocalypse” things you’ve seen before. The fact that Sanjaya is rocking on on American Idol basically means that a) the show is easily manipulated or b) that we’re all idiots in this country.

Smoking
Okay, I know that people are addicted to smoking, but when I pull into the office parking lot at 8:45am, and there’s *already* people from the other companies downstairs for a smoking break, and they work normal business hours, then isn’t that a sure sign of a serious problem? I mean, do people get out of their cars, come inside, toss their stuff on their desk, and go outside and smoke? I just fail to see the way this works.
