Out in Nisswa

I’m out in Nisswa, MN for the next week just hanging out and trying to get in some R&R during Memorial Day week. Was a little disappointed at the lack of EVDO at the lake house, but what can you do. Thankfully, all the coffee shops in town have wireless, for free, so that doesn’t work out too bad. Going to try and get my Sprint phone to work properly as an Internet connection, but I’m not sure if that’s going to work, either.

Should also have some fantastic pictures, especially after heading out on the boat this afternoon. There’s a loon nesting down by the water, and the sun is just amazing out here.

Back to reality, though, I’m psyched to see the House finale on Tuesday, so keep your eyes out for my writeup over at TV Squad.

Dolphins need smartphones, too

I’m sorry, but this is one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen written, at least when it comes to product reviews. Is it just me or is the subtle, yet stupid, way that it’s worked in that a dolphin wrote this just cash money in the bank?

Where else

Okay, I should really get off it when it comes to praising Thrillist, but who else, in one day, is going to point out (in one day, natch) where to go for sperm donation, and the amazing someECards.com, which features such amazing digital sendoffs as “You’ve been distant since the sexual harassment.” Wow. Just wow.

Naked Cowboy and Orbit

Okay, but the commenters on the Internet completely slay me. Check out this fantastic photo that my pal David managed to snag a couple of days ago. It’s good to know that the Naked Cowboy does indeed shop at the same random shops you do in Midtown.

Slutsky having some deathmatch fun

We should all have so much fun with a video camera, no?

What’s the score in the Red Wings game?

In what has to be one of the better 2+2=3.14159 blog posts of all time, David Singer figures out that Detroit still is, and probably always will be, Hockeytown. Well, that is if people are using the Wings score to determine whether or not they’re totally hallucinating.

Who wouldn’t buy this?

If this isn’t one of the best inventions of all time, then I’m really not sure what is. I mean, who wouldn’t wear that simply because a good portion of the world’s population wouldn’t have any clue what it was?

Via the incomparable Thrillist, natch.

Site (slow) Meter

Okay, so if you all aren’t using it on your own, you might not start now. Site Meter isn’t really conducive to a) speed b) multiple accounts/sites or c) speed right now, at all, with its new look. They’re *definitely* looking like they want paid customers based on how it works, IMHO. Ugh.

I guess I can’t complain much as I haven’t bought an account. Now I’m either going to have to do that or look elsewhere.

Verizon don’t wanna see Akon and its logo together

Sucks to be Akon. Oh, and Gwen Stefani’s tour promotions team.

Knocking on more wood

A couple of weeks ago, I mentioned my pal Loren’s supertacular Knock on Wood Wood, and she let me know that Max Kellerman mentioned her invention on his ESPN Radio show on Thursday in the NYC area. That’s very awesome.

Go, Loren!
