Usually I agree with what the Misheard Lyrics folks have to say.

Not this time. Maybe something else, but I’ve never hear anyone mishear “warm smell of colitas” as “once i felt i could eat dust” in “Hotel California.”

I always thought it was “warm smell of Cali dust” and figured that was what Mr. Frey was reefer-ing to.
