Flair bartending. No, really.
Okay, I’ve been sitting on this one for quite some time, but it’s well worth your reading time. Okay, maybe not, but you want to read it anyway.
Check out Marissa Conrad’s “Belly Up: The Pour Boys,” an entry at the Washingtonian’s After Hours blog.
My favorite quote of the whole thing, re: Tom Cruise’s “Cocktail”:
“That movie has probably done more damage for flair bartenders than anything else.”
This is probably something I shouldn’t make too much fun of on the Internet, because someone will find out about it and ruin a drink or six of mine, but whatever. I just couldn’t pass this up.
In any case, it’s interesting. And of course, now I’m going to be searching for these videos on YouTube as well, further proving that everything is on the Internet if you know where to look.
