The New York Yankees have apparently signed Morgan Ensberg to play 1B. Now maybe we’ll figure out that position. Not. Let’s sign a few more guys so we can be further confused as to who will actually play the position. I guess.

Planes, conveyor belts and Mythbusters
You *have to love* Jason Kottke’s coverage of Mythbusters from last night, which featured the ever-debated “if a plane is on a conveyor belt going one speed one direction, can it take off?” question. And who doesn’t love his final response after the plane does indeed take off from the giant conveyor belt-type-thing?
My additional two cents, it would have been better if they had added more commercials to this show. /sarcasm.

Rule 240 for the win
Steve Rubel posted on Twitter today about a Todayshow.com story from Peter Greenberg that discussed Rule 240, an old-school rule that airlines may actually follow for you should you be delayed for any reason other than weather. I’m most certainly going to look into this the next time I’m delayed in a non-weather situation, because now I’m curious about it. Anyone done this or heard of it before?
And, is it ruined now that it’s been posted on Todayshow.com?

19-0 Patriots book being sold before 19-0 season completed?
Just caught on Yahoo! NFL Rumors that you can (gulp) do a presale purchase of a book that is “to come” from the Boston Globe about the New England Patriots and their 19-0 season. You know, the 19-0 season that you haven’t seen completed yet.
That’s just not good.
[update] as of 3:42pm on 1/29, this book isn’t available at that page anymore on Amazon.

“All your computers are fake”
Ryan Budke shot and scored this afternoon by sending over a link to the video below, featuring Will Ferrell dropping in on CNBC’s “Power Lunch” way back in 2004. I had never seen this before, and it’s absolutely classic.

AirMail: Snagged opportunity for a business
In what has to be one of the quicker efforts to hop on top of a potential marketing opportunity I’ve seen – at least not by the brand involved in the first place – two people have come up with the laptop sleeve that many will probably try and get their hands on when they drop a couple thousand $$$ on a MacBook Air. It’s The AirMail. It’s a vinyl sleeve with fleece inside, and it has, as their site reminds you, “the same dimensions as standard interoffice manila envelopes.”

iPods for “I. Pod,” perhaps?
I’ve got a ton of other things to write about the Winter X Games, but I’ll start here for now. If Apple hasn’t already reached out to Iouri Podladtchikov about a potential sponsorship or some sort, then they really need to do it soon. That is all.

One more reason I love my Jawbone
Props to Eliot for the link he threw me the other day featuring the video below (original link here) that isn’t, for lack of a better way to put it, for those without humor or a those *with* a weak stomach.
In any case, if that doesn’t try and prove a point about how the Jawbone works, then nothing does.
