Welcome to today’s Morning Random Ten, with this being the “I’m in Northern Minnesota” edition. Yep, I’m out in the middle of nowhere (almost), drinking Leinenkugel’s Honey Weiss and getting my back porch on, but I thought it worthwhile to spin up a couple of tunes before heading off for the day.
- Tech N9ne – “Caribou Lou” – one of the more underrated dudes I’ve heard in awhile, IMHO. Crazy catchy and random.
- Dave Matthews Band – “Alligator Pie” – Okay, there’s no alligators in Minnesota, but whatever. It’s still qualifying for this playlist while I’m getting my nature (read: not city) on.
- Snoop Dogg feat. Nate Dogg, Butch Cassidy & The Eastsidaz – “Lay Low” – this one’s pretty self explanatory, natch.
- Pearl Jam – “In My Tree” – pick one. no, really.
- Jimmies Chicken Shack – “Spiderweb” – funny thing about being in a spot where you can actually walk twenty feet and be in a spot no one – well, no person at least – has been in a few weeks, months or even years. You stumble upon things, like spiderwebs, that you might not have seen otherwise.
- Incubus – “Wish You Were Here” – aside from being a darn good song, it’s pretty self explanatory, no?
- The Singles – “Summer” – yeah, the whole “official” end of summer and all this fine Labor Day Weekend. Whatevs.
- Pearl Jam – “Drifting” – certainly did a bit of this before coming in this evening from some time on the lake when we attempted to snag some fish. Got a couple of bites on my line, but no such luck.
- The Eagles – “Take It Easy” – if there was a song to sum up most of the day and a half we’ve been here so far, this is probably it. What was that about going home on Tuesday?
- Fruit – “Burn” – between the bonfire and the multiple cigars I got to chillax with today… and from a damn good band that I certainly miss seeing after catching them a number of years back at Musikfest in Bethlehem.
