Sorry for the lack of posting for the last few days – I am away on business, but hope to get back to regularly scheduled ranting soon – especially now that I know I have wifi in the hotel room!

Let’s Do the Cyborg Again
Check out the details in this post at jwz’s site. This person actually does the “Terminator” naked time travel pose every day in the shower.
Damn, I thought I was screwed up for checking my email on the way back to bed at 3:18am after going to the bathroom or getting a drink. To each his/her own, I suppose.

Who Thought This Was a Good Idea?
I mean, the concept of free beer is kind of neat, but I’m not sure the execution would be such a great thing….

So, The Gov’t Can Have ‘Em…
Atrios points out that at least two top government officials have bogus degrees, those that are illegal in certain places, and those that were originally discussed here, last October.

Brad Pitt likes kilts?
Because I’m sure that “Men will be wearing skirts by next summer.“
Oh, to be fashion conscious. I hope VH1’s “Best Week Ever” gets a piece of this.

Low Carb Dieting: Bad for Donuts
The New York Times reports with this AP story about how Krispy Kreme has a visible difference in business due to the still hot (for some reason) low carb craze.
I can’t wait until the “all the donuts you want” craze starts, frankly. I can’t stand this thing, as much as it might work – to the point when I contemplated shooting myself when I saw the low carb ketchup at the store last night.

Rod Begbie On Cooking…
“Don’t microwave a Hot Pocket for more than the recommended 2 minutes. Say, for 8 minutes…” More here.
This makes me harken back (did I just write that?) to the time when my friend Rob and I decided to measure the abilities of certain foods to handle microwaving. When your microwave has an up-directional cook timer, you know you’re in business. We tried italian sausages (gross), eggs (which hard boil. sort of.), uncooked pasta, and lunchmeat. Nothing, I repeat nothing, lasts more than 10 minutes in the microwave before becoming much less – or more distributed – than its former self.

3 Bombs Explode in Athens
Three bombs have gone off at an Athens police station, according to the BBC. Also noted – 100 days until the Olympics are set to start.
