Get your drive on
There’ll be more on this topic soon, but here’s a preview of some shots taken on Saturday with the Vulcan Motor Club. I’m working on a feature for Groomify, and this was step one in the process.
Thanks to Jon Selikoff for shooting photos all morning. Check out the whole set, unedited, here.
Falling with, or for, Ford?
The Agonist’s Sean Paul Kelley makes a huge point about the price of Ford on the stock market - in the $6 range - and whether or not that’s a buy sign or not. I hadn’t really had them on my radar of late so I just didn’t realize that’s where they were at and I’m kind of staggered by it, frankly. that makes me want to take a serious look at it from a long-term buy perspective, but I would have to ask the same thing - is it still high, price-wise?
Convertibles: A No Go
John Porretto at the Chicago Sun-Times reports that convertible registrations dropped approximately 2.3% in 2003, the second year in a row with a decline.
Economics was definitely a factor, but it looks like the SUVs being all over the place had a pretty big chunk of the market away as well. I’d expect to see convertibles continue to lose share in the next year or so, but I think the person not buying one isn’t the person who goes in looking for one - it’s the individual who has multiple cars on his/her mind and decides to purchase something else.
