- On Monday, Derek Powazek said a thing or two about SEO and the people who provide it as a service, professionally and otherwise. On Tuesday afternoon, Danny Sullivan responded with an open letter to Powazek. Since then, Powazek’s published a FAQ on the subject, and Sullivan has responded in kind, and not without a little snark (make sure you read the title). If you’re into search and Web design, etc., this is probably worth your time to check out.

Things I’ve learned while in Canada
So after being in Canada since Monday afternoon, I’ve learned a few things. It’s not that I haven’t been here before, but I’ve spent most of my time in Toronto or Montreal, and it’s been years since I’ve been back. So here goes:
- I haven’t found the “law” online yet, but apparently all hamburger meat is cooked well done. I’ve been at three places so far, and all of them say the same. It’s apparently not the same rules for steak. Seeking official confirmation, but all waitstaff in restaurants swear up and down that it’s for real
- Businesses don’t miss a beat when you pay with a $50. Unlike the U.S., where it’s all “we don’t have to take that.”
- People near Vancouver hate the Maple Leafs. It even said so on the menu at the Whistler Brewhouse. This is doubly amusing as we’ve met no less than two dozen people from Ontario.
- That I really missed having Cuban cigars
That’s all I’ve got for now. I’m sure there will be more later.

Worse than falling while on the ice
Check out this video of Pittsburgh Penguins goalie Marc-Andre Fleury tripping while trying to get on the ice during the first game of the Stanley Cup Finals on Thursday. It’s just not good.
Props to Vodkafish for the link.

But are they good seats?
David Singer blogged a gem about a craigslist posting for a guy looking for a “busty” babe to go to a hockey game with him – free tickets for cleavage.
