Well, I heard some funny things on Twitter last night from friends on the East Coast who’d already caught SNL, and figured I’d share something that I got a kick out of with the rest of you, if you haven’t already seen it. Oh, it’s prolly not safe for work… Get ready for Andy Samberg and ummm “Reba McEntire” like you’ve never seen.

If we all drank in the office like “Mad Men”
On Thursday, Jason Kottke posted an excellent item about drinking in the office like we were all on AMC’s “Mad Men,” which is an especially funny thought, even if you’ve never watched the show. For me, this is even more funny given a conversation I was in on Wednesday night and tweeted about while walking to the Union Square subway station, that I’m including here for your reading amusement.

Check out what happened when the fine folks at Double X got their drink on, below…

The Ed Hardy Boyz in your area
Funny or Die puts out yet another hit with “The Ed Hardy Boyz: The Case of the Missing Sick Belt Buckle” that you know you want to waste some of your hard-earned life minutes watching.
With a twofer going after Affliction, too.

I Threw It On The Ground
Andy Samberg takes not “being part of your system” to a whole new level, and pays for it in the end, in a digital short from last night’s SNL.
Also, If that wasn’t enough for you, make sure you check up on when Madonna and Lady Gaga showed up for “Deep House Dish” – it’s fascinating. “Saturday Night Live” for the win. Well, except for that Obama sketch at the open.
[update] Over at CliqueClack TV, Keith has posted the lyrics to “On The Ground,” for those of you interested in that sort of thing.

On Reply-To-All Buttons
Here’s an actual email I was just sent, with the names and company (it’s not mine) removed to protect the guilty, for your reading amusement.
To Whom it may concern.
I am an employee with [company redacted] and wanted to see if I could get the “Reply to All” buttom removed from my colleagues e-mail systems. As you can see from the e-mail below along with HUNDREDS of other examples, they cannot be trusted with this feature.
Please let me know at your earliest convenience how to remove this before I punch myself in the face.
Thank you very much.

Here’s today’s batch of Links You Need To Click…
- Gothamist points to some news in the NY Post about Mayor Bloomberg’s plan to “shoeprint” all footwear. Hello, CSI and L&O land!
- Congrats to Allison for finally getting to see Moby in NYC! It’s kinda nice to get to do things that you’ve wanted to for years and years.
- Plax goes to jail. Wonder if he’ll spike the ball on the field after not being touched when his knee was down on his first play in the prison yard.
- Hey look, it’s Microsoft’s Guru Bar!
- You see, I feel all cool as I’m coming to a close of Year 1 for the 365 Days Project on Flickr, and the damn stormtroopers have go to and one-up us all with Stormtroopers 365. [via Kottke]
- Look! Over there! It’s sponsored tweets from celebrities, courtesy of Ad.ly.
- Over at the Voce Nation blog, Chris Thilk asks what marketers would have to do if (shudder!) social media tools weren’t available for their programs, and he wants to hear from you.
- Speaking of Chris Thilk, wonder if he’s seen this juiced-up WALL-E.
- For those of you up for a challenge, Fred Wilson has one for you – as Tumblr.

Links You Need To Click: 9/20/09
It’s another edition of things that I’m obnoxious enough to suggest that you really really really wanna click through to.
- On Tuesday, Scott Monty fired a well-deserved shot across the bow of the 50 zillion social media books and experts floating around these days. With a few exceptions, of course. Also, Kottke with a semi-unrelated, yet serendipitously timed post. So what if it was posted two weeks earlier and sitting in my flagged items. It fits.
- I must admit, seeing Katie’s comments about getting started on what is her current blog, way back in 1999, when she was like 14, is quite fun and takes me back. To somewhere in the early 1990’s, and my BBS addiction.
- 4 Awkward Moments In Facebook “Likes” – via Mike.
- You won’t like Chris Thilk when he’s angry, movie studios!!!
- Leave it to Rex to put it down right when it comes to Microsoft’s Browser for the Better campaign. Now, like my randomly rotating in headline says – “If you’re on this site on IE6 then I hate your computer.”
- I’m sorry, but docs asking patients NOT to rate them online? Next thing you know this’ll start showing up on the back of movie or theatre tickets, that you can’t tweet about the show for 24 hours. [via David Weinberger]
- Have I mentioned that I FRAKING LOVE the new Studio MWW site? Seriously. The staff page wins at the Internet. For this morning, at least. Crap, it’s afternoon already. Sorry, guys.
Also, my latest PRWeek column is up, (subscription req’d) and discusses how PR people need to understand the value of working with journalists on stories that might only appear online – and how that’s a good thing.

Links You Need To Click: 8/18/09
Yeah, that’s right. Here’s a nice roundup of stuff that I found interesting, didn’t think I should jack all the interest in and write up, and force you to click through on to read the amusing goodness. Yeah, that’s right, I’m forcing you to click!
Or not.
- Blowdryers, liquids, and dynamite?
- Everyone’s doing it when it comes to comments on your blog w/ Twitter integration, or so Costa surmises. I dig this idea, just not sure how I wanna implement it. Open to suggestions!
- Phil Gomes with a stupendously awesome email thread w/ a PR firm. It’s short. It’s not sweet. I don’t know about you, but “it would just take me ages to find your addres [sic] in our database.” is not the right answer. Even if it is.
- Wil shares a thought, related to zombies and reality. No really.
- If you hadn’t heard, Twitter is making re-tweets part of the platform. Finally. [via Rex]
- Coolest bicycle ever. Also, Tron reference that sticks. Insert glow sticks in the handlebars, and your light cycle is ready to go.

“The Ballad of G.I. Joe” on Funny or Die
A mere hour after I posted on Twitter lamenting the time between “I’ve got a great idea” IMs that I’ve sent to Chris Thilk, followed by his response about how it has “got to be hours since I IM’d you something funny related to G.I. Joe,” we’ve got something new and funny, related to G.I.JOE. And oh boy is it funny. If you, umm, get all the jokes and inside baseball, of course. Note the level of talent that FOD continues to score, though.

“The Invasion of Cobra Island” – Best. G.I.JOE. Thing. Ever.
Oh, all right, this nerduo shirt is pretty damn awesome [via gruber], but Chris Thilk tipped me off to some seriously awesome action figure “action” movies from the Paramount camp, which hit yesterday in advance of today’s premiere of the G.I.JOE flick.
So without further ado, please check out parts 1 & 2 of “The Invasion of Cobra Island” below.
Part 1:
Part 2:
Thilk made sure I paid attention to the t-shirt on the kid in part two, and I’m also going to tell you to just pay attention to the massive amount of fun they must have had with this, as it’s got pretty much every single toy that I had wanted when I was a kid, collecting G.I.JOE toys back in the 80’s. And yes, I have now just time-sucked away your midday on a Friday like he did for me.
