Just wanted to drop a congratulatory blog post to my office pal Tim, who has gotten engaged to his girlfriend just recently. Good stuff, bro!

My mom is up for re-election in Matawan, where she’s been mayor since 2006. Just thought I’d wish her good luck here on my blog – and will be keeping an eye out here at the Asbury Park Press, which will hopefully give us good news later on today.

Dave Coustan is looking for suggestions for some thoughts, suggestions, or hate mail (okay, I added the hate mail idea) to what he’s calling the Hipster Domain Holding Page (that’s HDHP for short) – you know, the blank-ass parked page that you get from whatever domain registrar or host you’ve parked your domain at when you’ve been too lazy to put up something short and sweet in place of it. Yeah, that thing. So drop on by Dave’s and tell him what you think. Hell, it could be more fun that Custom 404 pages, right?

Check out this gem of a letter-to-the-editor in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, written by a colleague of mine. Scroll down about 3/4 of the way down the page, to “Mr. Ravenstahl, you are not the average 27-year-old.”

Anna is responding to the comments of Pittsburgh mayor Luke Ravenstahl, who says that his actions, including using a vehicle paid for with Homeland Security dollars to attend a Toby Keith concert, were justified, and that as a 27-year old, he shouldn’t be expected to not “go to concerts like I always have, and go to have a drink with my wife in bars.” Apparently he neglected to add “in cars paid for by the government” to that statement.
